Train the Trainer/Pitch Perfect Presentations in Baltimore Feb. 2019

Supply Chain Mavens Inc. & Baltimore APICS Chapter will be cohosting a Train-the-Trainer (TTT)/Pitch-Perfect Presentations (PPP) 2-day Workshop coming to Sterling, VA on Feb 22-23, 2019!

This 16-hour workshop is being offered 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Fri/Sat 2/22-23/18 at 910 N York Road, Sterling VA 20164.

Scope: This learning by doing workshop provides participants with successful presentation techniques which can be applied to any scenario or topic you may need to share with a small group or audience. Its purpose is to enhance your communication skills, leadership development and professionalism.

Attending TTT will increase your confidence and effectiveness as a trainer, consultant, team leader, project manager, salesperson or public speaker. TTT is a hands-on, do-it-yourself, intense 2-day immersive experience. Attendance is strictly limited to 6 slots to ensure individualized coaching. TTT is the first of two required workshops for IDP candidates wishing to teach APICS courses or programs.

Who Should Attend? If your goal is to become more comfortable and effective in these situations:

• Reporting status at project, production, or S&OP meetings

• Training small groups in a classroom or workshop

Curriculum: TTT involves 2 full days of instruction, providing best practices such as proper media selection, room preparation, body language, engaging adult learning styles, asking open- ended questions, and dealing with distractions. This workshop includes videotaping participants as they demonstrate their ability to deliver a 5-minute and a 10-minute presentation. These pivotal assignments enable constructive peer critiques, giving presenters an opportunity to learn how the audience perceives their message. Our workshop is unique in our ability to provide a FUN, SAFE atmosphere where people can develop a personal presentation style guaranteed to optimize their effectiveness and the quality of their message.

Cost: $550 for APICS members, $825 nonmembers.

CLTD at Intelsat April-May 2019

Supply Chain Mavens is bringing the Certified Logistics, Transportation & Distribution (CLTD) program to Intelsat US LLC in McLean, VA this April-May!

Scope:  CLTD covers concepts, tools and processes which illustrate the supply chain-wide system perspective of logistics.  CLTD emphasizes the microanalysis of logistics, distribution and transportation services. Managing a logistics systems requires oversights of transportation, order processing, inventory and the combination of warehousing, material handling and packaging.  All these components are integrated through a network of facilities with a goal to support customer service, manufacturing and purchasing operational requirements.

Who Should Attend?  Industry newcomers, logistics professionals, importers and exporters, 3PLs and 4PLs will learn the latest technologies and LTD trends.  Anyone active in daily management of warehousing or working within a multi-level distribution network will benefit from the best practices presented in this workshop, as will anyone involved in the transportation modes of trucking, rail, ocean, airline or pipeline.

Cost:  Students must bring highlighters and a phone with square root function to every session.  Substantial pre-course Reading Assignments are required for every session, including the first.  Registration fee of $2795 member/$3245 nonmember includes tuition and exam fee plus the following materials:

  • Online study tools access for 1 year

  • CLTD Exam credit (valid for 6 months)

Location & Registration:  Intelsat US LLC is located at 7900 Tysons One Place in McLean, VA 22102-5972.  Park across the street in the free garages at Tyson’s One Mall. Check in with building security in the Main Lobby.  Next get escorted up to Reception on the 19th floor, where we’ll get checked into Intelsat’s offices.  Our conference room will be #14-206 on the 14th floor.  Dress code is business casual.
